Here are well known boxers who went on to win world titles in the professional game and are considered great, the ones I have starred have the potential to be great:

~ Floyd Patterson (U.S.A.)- won the gold medal in the middleweight division at the 1952 Olympics and held the world heavyweight title from 11/30/1956 to 6/26/1959, and again from 6/20/1960 to 9/25/1962. He was also the first fighter to ever regain the heavyweight title.

~ Cassius Clay later known as Muhammad Ali (U.S.A.)- won the gold medal in the light heavyweight division at the 1960 Olympics and held the world heavyweight title from 2/25/1964 to 3/22/1967, again from 10/30/1974 to 2/15/1978, and again from 9/15/1978 to when he retired the following year. He was also the first fighter to ever win the heavyweight title 3 times.

~ Joe Frazier (U.S.A.)- won the gold medal in the heavyweight division at the 1964 Olympics and held the world heavyweight title from 2/16/1970 to 1/22/1973.

~ George Foreman (U.S.A.)- won the gold medal in the heavyweight division at the 1968 Olympics and held the world heavyweight title from 1/22/1973 to 10/30/1974, and again from 11/5/1994 to 11/22/1997. He is also the oldest fighter to ever win the heavyweight title.
